Bodywork Therapies offered by Regina Chanté, LMT #10991, cSAAP, cLAMT
One or more therapies will often be combined in a session.
Appointment duration generally (30) or (60) mins for adults.
Children under the age of 12, session will be (30) mins maximum.
Relaxation Massage
Specifically focuses on releasing pented-up muscular stress, improving blood / lympatic circulation, improving joint range of motion, easing blood pressure, and increasing recovery rate of non-acute injuries. Relaxation massage promotes rest, recovery, healthy skin tone, and calms the mind.
CranioSacral Therapy (CST)
Gentle pressure applied to key points on the body, from head to toe, helps free the body of deep fascial (connective tissue) restrictions around the brain and spinal column. Chronic, stored tension in the central nervous is freed up and very often the client slips into “Cranio-land”, a whimsical term created by a former patient, to describe the space between being awake and asleep accompanied by profound relaxation. In this healing space the body effortlessly releases old, stored memories and traumas trapped in the body’s systems. As with all bodywork therapies several sessions may be required to get at the root of deeper issues. If needed, this therapy may incorporate Somato-Emotional Release (SER).
Somato-Emotional Release (SER)
Unprocessed trauma, physical, mental, or emotional, can be ‘walled off’ by the body, creating “Energy Cysts” ( a term coined by Dr. John Upledger, Osteopath, and Dr. Zvi Karni, Biophysicist). These embedded, tangles of energy syphon the body of precious energy required for proper healing and maintenance. Sometimes during CST, or any other form of bodywork, the body may feel safe and relaxed enough to release these energy cysts. In turn, this may or may not trigger a memory, increased emotion, or sense of release and relief in the client. The body may return to the position it was in at the moment it received old trauma. As your SER therapist I hold safe space for you during this healing experience and, if appropriate, dialogue with you, provide gentle, guided meditation through the process, or simply hold space till the energy cyst has cleared.
Sounding Healing via Acutonics® Tuning Forks
Acutonics® tuning forks of varying harmonics are applied to the body’s acupuncture points, tense muscles, scar tissue, and in the auric field to gently, and deeply harmonize the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual bodies for optimal health. Often times this therapy is combined with my other healing therapies to address the body at the finer energetic levels.
Usui Ryoho Reiki, and Quantum Touch®
Two potent energy healing modalities utilizing gentle breathwork, and hands-on touch allowing a flow of “free energy” to the client. Directed by the innate wisdom of the recipient’s body, healing energy naturally goes where it’s most needed. My role is to hold space and be a clear conduit. These energy therapies are very relaxing, reduce pain, and anxiety. Like CranioSacral Therapy, Reiki and Quantum Touch® are often employed in hospice settings, and are appropriate for the client who wants relaxation and stress-relief without massage, or who suffer with chronic, debilitating disease.
Optional tools I occasionally add to the above therapies may include (with your permission):
Massage Cupping – silicone cup applied to oiled skin and continuously moved. The gentle vacuum releases connective tissue adhesions, reduces scars, and improves circulation.
Infra-red therapy light – for pain relief, detoxification, improved circulation.
Essential Oils – Optional. If you are allergic to any oils please advise in advance. Used for clearing sinus congestion, lifting depressed mood, sedating anxiety, warming or cooling tissues as needed.
Guasha – Guasha stones have smooth, rounded edges are used to “scrape” tissues and release muscle and fascial restrictions. This therapy improves circulation, breaks up stagnation, and relaxes the body.
